Basic Details

  • Botanical Name: Premna integrifolia

Morphological Description

Agnimantha is a small flowering tree or shrub growing up to 9 meters in height.

  • Bark: Yellow in colour

  • Root: Brown with a characteristic aromatic smell

  • Habitat: Native to India and Sri Lanka; usually grows in groups with other plants

  • Leaves: Opposite, simple, ovate, irregularly toothed

  • Fruits: Black when ripe; calyx saucer-shaped and surrounds the base
