Description

Height: Small to medium-sized tree, usually 20–25 feet tall

Bark: Fairly smooth, pale greyish-brown; peels off in thin flakes like guava

Leaves: Alternate, oblong; green above, paler below; reddish or brownish when dry; appear pinnate (0.4–1.5 × 2–4 mm)

Flowers: Bisexual, yellow, about 3 mm across; grow in clusters at terminal shoots

Fruits: Fleshy, globose, 0.5–1 inch in diameter; pale yellow, sometimes reddish when ripe; six distinct lines on outer surface; fibrous; taste sour, bitter, and astringent
